Assessments

Adoption of Agile Frameworks often result in disappointment. An assessment of your adoption can point at ineffective application of principles and practices. Addressing and resolving this can improve the performance of your organization significantly.

Despite significant investment in adopting an agile framework, it may not be delivering the results you expected. You’re still encountering familiar bottlenecks and struggling to deliver the right outcomes at the right time. Could it be that your agile adoption is just old wine in new bottles?

If this resonates with you, it might be time to seek an objective, external perspective on your agile practices and organizational dynamics.

Our Go See Assessment provides a thorough and impartial evaluation of your organization’s capabilities. We identify the essential strengths needed to stay adaptable, responsive, and resilient while effectively executing your strategy.

he key to an objective assessment lies in evaluating the effectiveness of your agile practices rather than mere adherence to frameworks. Scrum, SAFe, LeSS, Kanban—each has its strengths and weaknesses. None is inherently superior to the others, and all are destined to fail if they don’t enable your organization to truly adapt to changing demands, market shifts, technological advancements, or evolving customer needs.

Our Go See Assessment offers a comprehensive analysis of your agile practices. Through a structured approach, we examine your organization’s structure, processes, rewards, and people. This is achieved through a combination of scripted workshops, interviews, and observations, tailored to different levels of your organization—from strategy to operations.

Explore

Where does your interest in an assessment come from? What is the scope of the organization and processes you are looking to get an objective an analysis on? In this stage we explore the objectives, scope and approach of the assessment of your agile organization and practices.

Agree

Having explored the objectives and possibilities with you, we will draft a proposal with a quote. You can decide to agree and start the assessment, maybe after some amendments. Or you can decide not to go through with the assessment. No question asked. Well, maybe some. To learn from the experience.

Execute

In the case you decide you want to go through with the assessment, we start working on planning the observations, interviews, and workshops. This will gather all the data needed for the assessment analysis. These will be specified up front in the proposal. Depending on the scope of the assessment, this can take from a week to three weeks.

Process

Having gathered all the data during the execution of the assessment it will then be processed, analyzed and compiled into a set of insightful abstractions, reports, conclusions and recommendations. Depending on what we agreed upon, these can include:

  • Team agility
  • Agile engineering practices
  • Agile framework effectiveness
  • Organizational agility

Note that none of these will assess adherence, but effectiveness and actual transformation towards agility instead.

Deliver

The compiled report will be delivered as a file with the raw assessment data included. It can optionally be delivered and presented to a desired audience. This can be useful if extra deep dives on specific findings and recommendations are needed.

Evaluate

This and the next bit is optional. If desired, it is meant for both parties to learn from the experience of the assessment process, rather then the assessment itself.

Effectuate

Sometimes clients do not have the knowledge or skills needed to effectuate the recommendations. We can help out effectuating a selection of the recommendations made in the delivered assessment report.  We usually do not offer this op front, and offer help upon request.
